General Info & Shipping FAQ

Thank you for shopping with us - we greatly appreciate your support. This is a general information page covering frequently asked questions.

We ship worldwide exclusively using Canada Post services. We aim to dispatch orders within 48 hours. However, please note that at busy shopping periods (such as Christmas), dispatch can take longer. Orders placed after 12 pm on Fridays, or orders placed on the weekends, will be dispatched on Monday at earliest. Please note, the shipping times shown at checkout and processing times mentioned here are only a guide and are not guaranteed. 

If you have a delivery deadline, please email us at shop@papery.ca and we will try our hardest to meet it.

Pricing and Payments 

All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) and do not include tax. Orders ship from Ottawa, Canada. We accept Visa and MasterCard. If you wish to pay using Visa Debit please contact us to verify the availability of your purchase items BEFORE completing your order. (Refunds of Debit Charges can take up to 30 days.)

We ask for a phone number when you place your order, as this is the quickest way for us to reach you if there are any issues. Your details will only be used by us, and will not be passed to a third party.

Please Note: when you click the 'Pay Now' button you are pre-authorizing the amount of the purchase on your card. The card will NOT be billed until the order is ready to go. This gives us time to ensure we have the products you have chosen on hand. Adjustments to your order are easy to do so if there are any issues, please let us know as soon as possible.

Shipping Options

Based on the weight of the item, there are various options available.

Lettermail
If your order is very thin and can be shipped in an envelope then you may opt for the 'Lettermail' options on check out. However this method does not included tracking; the delivery will be less expensive but is entirely at your (the customer's) own risk. If your order will exceed the size limitations of Non Standard Lettermail (380 mm x 270 mm x 20 mm) then please do not select this option. Unsure? Fire us an email and we can check the eligibility for you- shop@papery.ca. 

If an order is placed through lettermail but is ineligible to do so, we hold the right to increase shipping cost. In the circumstance that this happens, we will email you to discuss options prior to billing for the additional cost. The additional shipping cost will need to be authorized by the customer so you will not be charged extra without your expressed consent. Customers are also free to cancel the order with no additional costs.

Expedited or Xpresspost
Items heavier than 300 grams will show Expedited post and Xpresspost options. Both options include tracking and customers will be provided the number upon dispatch. 

Expedited usually takes 3 - 7 business days while Xpresspost is 1 - 2 days. This will vary based on how far you the delivery location is from Ottawa.

Taxes

Out of province orders will need to pay Ontario HST if 'Pick Up In Store' is selected and the item is actually picked up at our shop. 

Taxes will be applied based on delivery location. For out of country shipments, there will be no added taxes upon purchase but there may be addition fees for the individual upon the delivery. The Papery does not pay the duties and taxes for shipments outside of Canada, and the customer is responsible for paying those costs. 

Local Delivery

The Papery has partnered with Trexity to provide local delivery of items. All items sold on our online store can be delivered straight to your door for a flat fee. At the moment, we cover most of the Ottawa valley, Gatineau, and some other select areas of Quebec.

If you have items that you would like delivered that are not on the website, please call or email us and we check to see if we have them in stock and try our best to accommodate. 

Local deliveries are usually shipped within the 24 hour period, often done same day. You will be notified when your delivery has been confirmed and tracking is also provided.

During the winter months, we allow the delivery of inks (but not shipments). Please note that if a customer places a delivery for inks during the winter, it is their responsibility to get the order as soon as possible, to prevent the ink from freezing.

**** Online orders are not eligible to collect Papery Loyalty Points or for offer and discount redemptions.
