With the birds and other wildlife of Canada’s far north as favorite subjects, Kenojuak Ashevak has created powerful, vibrant works. This boxed set of cards contains 6 prints; Flower Bird, Promenade (2010), Floral Passage (2007), Guardian Owl (1997), Return of the Loons, and Audacious Owl.
Like many Inuit artists, Kenojuak Ashevak spent most of her life living on the land in a manner not unlike that of her ancestors. She began first experimenting with drawing and stone carving in the 1950s, and her life and art have been the subject of a film produced by the National Film Board of Canada. Kenojuak has been accorded many honours for her achievements. She received the Order of Canada in 1967, and has been awarded Honourary Degrees from both Queen's University, and the University of Toronto.
